I saw this post on Fatwallet posted by Troutmd and thought I'd share.

Academy Sports newspaper flyer has the Remington Express 870 12 gauge Super Magnum in Camo on sale for $339.99 minus a $30 Manufactures MIR = $309.99 + tax after rebate.

If you are looking for a great all around shotgun, this is a GREAT ironhorse of a gun. Good build materials, proven design around for YEARS, and a *bargain* of a price. I have not seen this exact gun in the Super Mag near the $300 mark ever. If you do not know, the Super Mag shoots 3 1/2 inch shells. Standard shotguns shoot 2 3/4 or 3. The super mag is mostly desired for Turkey hunts. (It WILL shot anything 2 3/4, 3, or 3 1/2).

It comes with one mod choke and the barrel is a 26 inch vent rib with threads for interchangeable chokes; my store had an end rack of clearenced 'junk' where I found a Super Full Turkey choke by Remington for $6.00. That was a no brainer for me since my main goal with this gun is turkey. It certainly could be used for ducks, dove, skeet, etc.

Just as an FYI, a local gunstore in Houston TX has the same gun for $389 'on sale' and the local Gander Mountain wants $419.

My academy also has the full Synthetic for (I think) $319 - $30MIR and I did not check the price of a blued/wood stock.

I found a few similiar guns online for comparisons sake. Budsgunshop is a great online resource and has VERY competitive prices. The first below looks like the identical gun to me. He is near $100 higher, plus remember if you buy online, it must be shipped to a FLL gunshop and they typically charge $25+ to do the transaction....

Last thing I will say is that I personally think this COULD be a price mistake and is supposed to be the Express and NOT the Super Magnum. There was NO hassles on purchase and it rings up as $339.

I picked up a 870 Express 12 Gauge a couple of weeks ago for $279, net of a rebate.

I was just at my local gun store this morning -- Remington Express on sale for $249.00 -- Jensen Arms, Loveland, Colorado.

They also had some black rifles in stock. One Del-ton CAR-15 16" flattop w/6-position M4 stock for @ $740. I was shocked it was still on the shelf.
